Obama with His Majesty, King Bhumibol Adulyadej in Thailannd.

U.S. President Barack Obama paid an official visit to Thailand as guest of the Royal Thai Government on 18-19 Nov, 2012. This visit to Thailand will be President Obama's first stop in his trip to the region after his successful re-election on 6 Nov, 2012.
On his official visit to Thailand, the President is granted an audience with His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej at Siriraj Hospital on 18 Nov, 2012. Furthermore, the President also met with Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to discuss various issues including strengthening the Thai-US alliance, based on close diplomatic relations which will be commemorating its 180th anniversary next year, along with cooperation on regional and global issues of mutual interest. The meeting between the two leaders were followed by a Dinner in honour of the President hosted by the Prime Minister at the Government House. President Obama was accompanied on this visit by Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton.
